Here are my thoughts on how McLaren could've designed the new 570S better.
The headlights have to be a hell of a lot smaller.
The center console needs to be one piece.
The half pipe shaped vents near the side windows need to go, the engine cover needs to be glass, and the tail lights need to be changed.
That is all.. I think..

the larger headlights make it look somewhat representable to an anime character.

Floating consoles rock.

So...
It should be like the others? Imitator vs. innovator.. If someone isn't being a little different, nothing ever evolves. I do agree about the engine cover/rear window/roof combo.. Not an attractive look. It has shades of that MiniCooper coupe tiny window weird roof combo.

The glass cover could be an Option they have yet to show.

Correct. If it works, don't change it. aka #ThePorscheWay

I forgot about this guy until just now.

Porsche is building rear-engined supercars, which sets them apart a good bit. They also have probably the most iconic shape and look. They don't have to do anything differently to continue being unique.

I know! I keep on forgetting about that car! My uncle is on the waiting list for one; hopefully he actually buys it.

True.. It's going to still be a while until they build their more mid engined cars..

Saw one in person and was unimpressed. Not conventionally pretty, for sure.

I hope so too, I'm really falling for this car as the market it's in is becoming unappealing to me (new r8, i8, 570S, etc.)

Im an artist, unconventionally pretty is simply beauty that begs for your time. I think I might actually look into leasing one the more I think about it to be honest.

You could have circled the whole thing and you wouldn't have been wrong. Also the greenhouse is too tall.

No, beauty comes from expressing purpose and meaning in a novel way. Case in point, E-Type S1, 1964 911, Dino 246, Ford GT, even the 4C and LFA. These are 'designed' cars, integrated and purposeful.
Cars like the NSX and i8 (and even this, unfortunately), are 'styled' cars, with two tone plastic trim tacked on, lines that don't correspond across surfaces, unnecessary complication. I think there is nothing timeless about these - compare the 512BB to the Testarossa, and think which one you'd rather be seen in today.

Stopping this and making something different.

All I see when I look at the 570S is this:

Nah, all that stuff needs to be kept. We need more oddity and quirkyness in the market somewhere. I don't want the supercar bracket to be full of people who decide they must make whatever the guy in front is making. That what everyone does in the $20-30k sedan segment, and you're not gonna tell me the results of that did anyone any good.
